I love Lisa Jewell’s writing and I was very excited when I got a chance to review this arc from NetGalley。 This story is told in three alternating timelines and three voices: Kim in June 2017, Sophie in August 2018, and Tallulah in October 2016。Tallulah is a 19-year-old mother to Noah, living at home with her mother, Kim, and boyfriend Zach。 After a rare night out, Talullah and Zack go missing, leaving Kim to raise their son and search for answers about their disappearance。 A year later, Sophie I love Lisa Jewell’s writing and I was very excited when I got a chance to review this arc from NetGalley。 This story is told in three alternating timelines and three voices: Kim in June 2017, Sophie in August 2018, and Tallulah in October 2016。Tallulah is a 19-year-old mother to Noah, living at home with her mother, Kim, and boyfriend Zach。 After a rare night out, Talullah and Zack go missing, leaving Kim to raise their son and search for answers about their disappearance。 A year later, Sophie moves with her boyfriend to Upfield Common as he is the new head teacher of Maypole, a private school for students who have to retake their A levels。 Sophie is a writer of cozy crime novels, and she takes an interest in Tallulah and Zach’s disappearance。 Soon, someone begins leaving behind clues。 Jewell manages to catch a mother’s heartbreak in the wake of her daughter’s absence, which is no easy task。。 It’s not nearly as dark or as insidious as some of Jewell’s other books, but compelling nonetheless。 The first few chapters are a bit dry, but it picks up quickly after that and I found myself eager to solve the mystery along with Sophie。 I did wish there was a bit more of a conclusion at the end as I still had some unanswered questions! Thanks to NetGalley and Atria books for this arc in exchange for a fair and honest review。 。。。more

Yet another Lisa Jewell book that easily earns 5 stars。 This story was very original and the swapping from past to present time really worked。 The characters were so realistic I felt I knew them all so well。 I wouldn’t want to give any plot away but just have to say the scenes with Tallukah and Zak had me on the edge of my seat some of the times。 This is bound to be a big hit I’m sure and so we’ll deserved。 Look forward to her next offering。

Wow! What a book。 Up to the high standards I expect from this author。 I've literally just finished reading this book and I feel emotionally wrung out。 i was gripped from page one and felt compelled to read this in all the spare time I had as I so wanted to know the end。I love the way Lisa writes from multiple points of view and differing time lines。I also want more! I really enjoyed this book…。。until all the clues come together and you find out what happened to Tallulah and Zach。 I found the ending so frustrating and far fetched that it ruined what was otherwise a very enjoyable read。

As with all of Lisa Jewell’s books, THE NIGHT SHE DISAPPEARED captured me immediately。 This is not a small book, but I read it so quickly, because NOT reading it sucked。 I didn’t want to put it down。 Lisa’s writing makes you feel for the characters。 I felt specifically attached to the main character, Tallulah。 Like I was part of her story。 It was intense。 The plot is so thrilling, you’ll have no clue what’s going to happen。 With each chapter you read, the further you get into this wild mystery。 As with all of Lisa Jewell’s books, THE NIGHT SHE DISAPPEARED captured me immediately。 This is not a small book, but I read it so quickly, because NOT reading it sucked。 I didn’t want to put it down。 Lisa’s writing makes you feel for the characters。 I felt specifically attached to the main character, Tallulah。 Like I was part of her story。 It was intense。 The plot is so thrilling, you’ll have no clue what’s going to happen。 With each chapter you read, the further you get into this wild mystery。 The ending is phenomenal and really ties everything together。 I even found myself tearing up at the end。 This is definitely my new favorite Lisa Jewell book。 。。。more

A fine “whodunnit” from an author at the top of her game。It echoes past mystery masters with its plot turns, such as a hidden medieval passageway (think Enid Blyton, circa 1940s), and a chief character with a knack for seeing clues others miss (think Christie’s Miss Marple, circa 1950s)。 It also is full of sexual tension (very much circa 2020s)。With two missing young lovers and a baby left at home with his grandmother, the tension builds, clue by clue。 It maintains good pace right to the final c A fine “whodunnit” from an author at the top of her game。It echoes past mystery masters with its plot turns, such as a hidden medieval passageway (think Enid Blyton, circa 1940s), and a chief character with a knack for seeing clues others miss (think Christie’s Miss Marple, circa 1950s)。 It also is full of sexual tension (very much circa 2020s)。With two missing young lovers and a baby left at home with his grandmother, the tension builds, clue by clue。 It maintains good pace right to the final chapters, where it reaches a satisfying set of conclusions。Yes, it has many handy plot twists and clues that conveniently appear when needed。 But all in all, an entertaining 3。5 star mystery。 。。。more
